happiTV, the World's First LGBTQ+ focused Streaming Entertainment Platform, Launches Equity Crowdfunding Campaign

West Hollywood, Calif. – April 4, 2022 – happiTV, a streaming entertainment app, website, and television channel dedicated to showcasing stories and content from the LGBTQ+ community, has launched an equity crowdfunding campaign on Wefunder.

From feature films and TV series to documentaries and short-form videos, happiTV features content made for and by members of the LGBTQ+ community. With a mission to serve as an anchor for positive role models and send powerful messages to queer audiences worldwide, happiTV is changing the landscape of streaming entertainment for the LGBTQ+ community. For audiences, this means having access to a wealth of resources all in one place. And for creators, it provides a much-needed platform for their work to be seen and heard.

“happiTV isn’t just a streaming platform, it’s a community for the isolated and the unheard,” said happiTV President and CEO Daniel Bort. “happiTV is all about representation, building community, and making a difference. We amplify stories and give our content creators a platform to tell their stories so our viewers can watch and feel seen, heard, and understood because the movie or show they’re watching is a story they’ve lived.”

happiTV appeals to millennials, Gen Xers, and Centennials alike, bringing the whole community together with empowering voices, queer fiction, inclusive reality TV, and a safe haven for ideas that are changing the world. The channel also boasts a highly sought-after audience, with the LGBTQ+ demographic growing rapidly, and often composed of savvy and upscale consumers with a collective $1.5 trillion impact on the global economy.

Funding received through Wefunder will help happiTV build awareness by getting its name out and telling its story through advertising and marketing, support operations, and expanding resources for creating content. It will include reaching out to creators to host their content on happiTV and grow the happiTV community. The increase in capital also will provide funding to build out specialized content categories, including queer-friendly religious content and special programming with leading queer influencers worldwide.

“By participating in the Wefunder campaign, investors will allow happiTV to continue bringing visibility to the stories of those who have been historically marginalized, as well as showcasing the diverse talents of content creators in the LGBTQ+ community who would otherwise be silenced,” said Bort. “We’re building new categories of content that go beyond entertainment; what we’re creating is a place where people have the freedom to belong, feel represented, and find community.”
