[UPDATED]: Park City Psychotherapy Offers Adult Individual Psychotherapy in Park City, UT
Mental health is as important as physical health, and as time goes on, many studies indicate that a number of physical ailments have a broad relationship with mental health and even their origin can be lack of attention to mental health.

Park City, UT – Mental health is as important as physical health, and as time goes on, many studies indicate that a number of physical ailments have a broad relationship with mental health and even their origin can be lack of attention to mental health. Although not all human problems can be treated in the same way, adult individual psychotherapy can help people understand themselves and develop the capacity to maintain a stable, realistically-based sense of self and self-esteem to make significant changes in the way they think, feel, perceive, and, in general, relate to life.

Park City Psychotherapy is a leading psychology practice in Park City, Utah, dedicated to helping adults professionally address their emotional problems by utilizing modern psychoanalytic models and methods.

The office is led by Dr. Donn Peters, a clinical psychologist with decades of professional experience serving families in Park City and its surrounding areas. Dr. Peters received his graduate training at the Rosemead School of Psychology in La Mirada, California and his postgraduate studies were with Drs. David and Jill Scharff at the International Institute for Object Relations Therapy in Bethesda, MD.

Describing his job as a clinical psychologist, Dr. Peters says, “Cleaning up the past helps us clear up the future. My job, as I see it, is to help clients identify the subtle but powerful deeper causes, those patterns of coping and relating, that lie at the core of their difficulties. Having accomplished that, my job is to facilitate substantive conversation about the deeper issues.”

In addition to individual therapy, Dr. Peters also specializes in marital therapy, as he is fully trained and accredited in the Gottman Method, by Dr. John Gottman (“America’s Relationship Expert”) and through the use of this method, Park City Psychotherapy has successfully helped many couples transform their relationship and discover a new love and commitment.

Dr. Peters has also studied and incorporated into couples therapy the fundamentals of Attachment Theory, which holds that attachment patterns that develop in the young child persist into later life, causing conflict at the marital level. As an expert in this theory and the application of psychoanalysis, Dr. Peters seeks to help couples identify those patterns that may cause relationship problems.

Park City Psychotherapy – Couples Counseling accepts different insurance plans from PEHP Health Benefits, Select Health, and DMBA. However, at least fifty percent of their patients are willing to pay for their sessions out-of-pocket. Dr. Peters strives to accommodate his patients’ budget plan so they can get the therapy they need.

Park City Psychotherapy is located at 2720 Homestead Rd. Ste 30, Park City, Utah, 84098.
