Conflow Power Group announces product development and manufacturing agreement in Taiwan.
London, England – May 26th, 2021 – Conflow Power Group Limited is pleased to confirm the closing of a major agreement to mass manufacture key components for its ultra-smart street light ‘iLamp’ in Taiwan.
As the semiconductor sector experiences supply chain blockages, Taiwan comes under the spot light as many of the world’s largest producers are there. Conflow has been negotiating with a seasoned manufacturer of high grade semiconductors for many months resulting in an important component to the mass scale up with this agreement.
Under the terms of the joint venture and funding agreement Conflow Taiwan will develop new components as well as the existing production of light emitting diode epitaxy wafers, using Liquid Phase Epitaxy technology and mass production of AlGaAs Red colour epitaxy wafers and MOVPE epitaxy technology for AlInGaP visible and infrared epitaxial wafers and GaAs Ingot/substrate. These are used for WIFI and 5G communication applications and are vital for today’s growing needs. This puts Conflow Taiwan at the very forefront of the post silicon age in semiconductors.
In recent months the LED epitaxy wafer has become the main product of the facility and will feature as a main driver in the difference maker for iLamp. Conflow Taiwan will focus on LED, smoke detection, camera tech and 5G transmitters as well as onboard server capacity units for the enhanced tech model of the iLamp. The move allows Conflow to reduce production costs, enhance technology and to be a leader in the Liquid Phase Epitaxy Technology LED Epitaxy Wafer market.
The operation in Taiwan has 21 years of successful manufacturing and is fully licensed and approved as a semiconductor manufacturer. Creating a semiconductor manufacturing facility today is almost prohibitive in cost due to approvals and licensing requirements as well as know-how and the equipment required, Edward Fitzpatrick CEO at Conflow Power Group said “we have a turn key operation now in Taiwan but also and more importantly an experienced driven team of engineers and highly educated personnel boasting 4 Ph.D. 1 Masters and 32 Bachelor of science of the 49 staff located there, all of which have invaluable experience in a very complex niche market, it’s a proud day for our joint organisations.”
