Josh’s Benches for Awareness, A Non-Profit for Suicide Prevention & Mental Health Awareness Offers Unpaid Digital Marketing Internship Opportunity
Josh’s Benches for Awareness Corporation is a 501(c)3 charitable organization dedicated to raising awareness on mental health issues and promoting suitable resources to remove the negative stigma surrounding the receiving of help. We participate in assemblies and speaker events to try and spread valuable info that will hopefully one day be incorporated into the student curriculum. The benches that we build and install serve as physical symbols that represent our talks, any local campaign or movement surrounding mental health, and are also safe places for students to refer to for help. The benches are bright yellow so that whoever notices them and reads them will know that they are not alone and that there is help out there for them.
We are looking for assistance from an intern that would be able to work remotely to earn experience with social media and digital marketing. This is for an unpaid position, as we are still working towards higher monetization to support paid positions in the future. As far as a time requirement, we really only expect some time on nights/weekends to work on things. So it would not be a demanding role to take.
So far, we have been able to place over 35 benches across multiple states. As we start planning towards further growth next year, we have started to brainstorm different ideas that will require help from more people. To provide more for communities we would need to start implementing projects that expand on our mission. We have a couple of ideas that can bring value to local communities, but we would really need to have another digital marketer onboard to support any of them.
We also require someone that can run the social media channels/blogging to promote certain events as they occur. This would be fairly simple, but with the possibility of expanding on our platform as we continue to grow. The person chosen would have a good amount of creative freedom to implement ideas they might have. So this would be perfect for someone that needs experience and guidance with growing organizations online through digital marketing.
This opportunity allows for some freedom to really give direction as far as content strategies or new initiatives. But you will also be guided by the co-founder, Victor Perez, who is experienced with growing businesses using search engine optimization.
